General Rules for Placing Classified Ads
The listing of ads on this page is for the benefit of residents of Hickory Hills. Anyone (both residents and non-residents) interested in responding to an ad is free to contact the listing person directly with regard to that item.
There is a $5 donation charge for residents to list a non-commercial all-text ad. Anyone (resident or non-resident) listing a commercial (business related) text ad is expected to make a donation to the HHPOIA of $15 per ad at the time of submission. Those listing the ads also have the responsibility to contact the HHPOIA office when the item is sold, so the ad can be removed from the website. Businesses wishing to have a "standing" ad and to use their logo graphic with the text ad can do so at no extra cost, but must submit an electronic file version of the graphic. An internet link to that business' home page can also be included as a part of the ad if desired. "Standing ads" expect a donation of $25 per calendar year, payable upon ad submission, and at the beginning of each successive calendar year.
Realtors may request an ad for a home that they represent. Realtor ads are considered commercial ads and are subject to the requirements listed in the above paragraph. If pictures are also desired, it is the responsibility of those submitting the ad to provide the pictures (up to 3 allowed). The cost for an ad with pictures will be a donation of $25 to the HHPOIA.
To request an ad, you may click the "submit" button on the Classifieds page, fill out the ad form, and click save at the bottom of the form. The ad request is then sent to the HHPOIA office. The ad will not appear on the website until it has been reviewed and accepted. Ads may also be submitted by mail to the Office, or delivered in person.
A Caution:
All ads listed in these classifieds will be viewable by the general public on the internet. This means that you should not place any information in your ad that you would not want the general public to view. If you want to provide an e-mail address but do not want to expose your regular address or phone to the general public, consider opening a free account from Yahoo, Hotmail, or other free service and use that address exclusively for your classifieds.
